Illamasqua - For Your Alter Ego..

Recently I decided that I wanted to be a bit more adventurous with my make up - generally with colour. I always do strong eyes and I decided to try strong lips. I've invested in this amazing bright red lipstick from Illamasqua called "Encounter". I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I only got round to wearing it this weekend. I AM IN LOVE. It's very glamourous but quite edgy at the same time. It goes on quite smooth, but I do recommend using lipbalm or conditioner underneath it first. I also lined my lips with a nude/clear lipliner (sort of like concealer in a lip liner) to stop any bleeding which strong lipsticks have a tendency to do. It stayed put until I ate and didn't bleed. I've taken some shots wearing the lipstick and I have to admit I felt quite sexy wearing it! I think DBF liked it too ;)

I also bought some fake eyelashes, very subtle styles. One style is a bit more voluminous and lengthening and the other is super natural.. Have yet to try these but I have high hope for them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2o12 !!

Okay, so I might be a couple days late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR all!

This year DBF and I went for dinner at Foxtrot Oscar on Hospital Road, Chelsea, London. It was a lovely 5 course meal which included Foie Gras, Scallops, Beef and Bone Marrow and Ice Cream. I may do a little review later on and include the awful phone pictures I tried to take.

My outfit was a black bodycon dress and my CL Very Privé in Pewter. I used Stila eyeshadow in neutral tones and my Eylure fake eyelashes in 110 with Majorlica Majorca Neo Automatic liquid eyeliner and Chanel Inimitable Mascara for my eyemake up look. KATE eyebrown pencil in BR-3. And Stila blusher and highlighter on my face. MAC Lustering for my lips. I styled my hair down with large loose waves created by an Instyler and Umerto Gianini Catwalk hairspray.

We headed to Floridita "Midnight Glow" NYE celebration with our friends after dinner and topped off the night with a tip to HK Diner in Chinatown, London. We ended up at home around 5am.

So HAPPY NEW YEAR from me and DBF <3

Christmas Comes Early 2o11 !

The annual Selfridges Christmas promotion "Christmas Comes Early" has arrived and this year it is bigger and better than ever. In previous years there have been restrictions which have somewhat hampered my efforts to take advantage of the 20% off discount, this year however is a totally different story. Apart from some concessions, mainly Louboutin, Chanel, Prada, Dior etc, all the other departments and brands are included. DvF and designers such as Herve Leger, Miu Miu, Roland Mouret and Alexander McQueen are taking part and have included new season styles as well.

This year I benefit from staff discount on top of the promotion which means there are extra savings to be had. I vowed to buy only things I need and items I would not usually get such good discounts on.

Here are some of the things I purchased in my Christmas Comes Early haul !!

Chanel "Chance" perfume. 4 Longchamp "Le Pliage" bags - Red, Chocolate and Navy medium with long handles and Black large with short handles. COS jumper with silk and button detail back.

MAC Holiday gift set - Eyeshadow duo, eyeliner, brush and mascara in make up case. MAC Holiday Viva Glam lipstick set - Lady Gaga lipstick in Nude and Pink and make up bag. Chanel Make up remover. MAC liquid eyeliner.

Alexander McQueen chiffon scarf with skull print in navy/gold.

Other items included bed linen set from Muji in an amazing soft jersey fabric. Ralph Lauren jumpers for Christmas gifts. DBF also bought me a pair of Louboutin's which are featured in an upcomning post about the Louboutin's that I have acquired in December.

Shoes from HK !

My parents have come back from a 4 week trip to Malaysia and Hong Kong. My Mum called me pretty much every day to ask me about shoes and gifts I wanted. To be honest, I don't really desire much from HK when I am not there - aside from replenishing my stock of Darlie toothpaste! However, she insisted she wanted to buy me shoes (as if I don't have enough already) and this is what she came back with.

Maud Frizon mini heel pumps in black patent with bow detail

Maud Frizon ballet pumps in 2 styles.

The quilted ballet pumps are really cute on and surprisingly comfortable. I actually find them more padded and comfortable than my Chanel pumps. The little heeled pumps are also comfortable and I think are really good for work as the heel is appropriate and easy.
